Turkish Equities Begin Trading Day in Positive Territory

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock market index started Thursday’s session with gains, rising 41.21 points, or 0.30%, to reach 13,785.85 at the opening bell.

The advance followed a largely stable performance on Wednesday, when the BIST 100 index edged up 0.02% to finish the day at 13,744.64 points. Total trading activity during the session reached 151.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.28 billion).

By 9:50 a.m. local time (0650 GMT), the Turkish lira was trading at 46.1550 against the US dollar. The euro stood at 53.3965 liras, while the British pound was valued at 61.8945 liras.

In commodity markets, gold was priced at $4,092.10 per ounce. Meanwhile, Brent crude futures were changing hands at $93.40 per barrel.
