Israel Bombs Iran Petrochemical Plant
The attack left sections of the sprawling petrochemical complex damaged, Fars reported, citing Valiollah Hayati, Khuzestan's deputy governor for security affairs. Hayati confirmed that no fatalities or injuries had been recorded as of his statement.
Shortly after, Iran's Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization announced a full staff evacuation of the port city of Bandar-e Mahshahr in Khuzestan, a state broadcaster reported.
Iran did not hold back. The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) declared Monday morning that its aerospace division had carried out precision strikes against what it called "important and strategic" Israeli air bases. A statement released through the corps' official mouthpiece Sepah News identified the Nevatim and Tel Nof bases as the targets, describing the assault as a calculated response to Israeli missile strikes that had hit radar infrastructure across three separate locations inside Iran.
The IRGC issued a pointed warning alongside the announcement, stating that its entire network of combat and operational units stands at full readiness across all fronts, with mission plans drawn up to counter every scenario attributed to the "enemy."
The Monday strikes form part of a fast-moving chain of hostilities. On Sunday, IRGC aerospace forces had already unleashed ballistic missiles against the Ramat David air base in northern Israel — retaliating, the corps said, for what it characterized as Israel's "widespread crimes" in southern Lebanon, crimes it said included the deliberate killing and mass displacement of civilians.
