Iran Claims Strike on US Base Following Claimed Attack Near Strait of Hormuz
According to reports, the IRGC said its Aerospace Force targeted the base believed to have supported the operation against the communications infrastructure and claimed that the site was destroyed during the attack.
The statement indicated that the operation took place only hours after the reported US action against the telecommunications facility. Iranian officials further asserted that all intended targets were successfully hit.
According to reports, the IRGC also warned that any additional attacks would prompt a response “different in scale and nature,” stressing that the United States would bear responsibility for any resulting escalation.
No immediate reaction or official statement from US authorities was available regarding the Iranian allegations.
Sirik Island is situated near the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically significant maritime passage that serves as one of the world's most important shipping routes.
