Azerbaijan Sends Humanitarian Aid to Iran Amid Escalation

(MENAFN) Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has ordered humanitarian assistance to Iran as the US-Israeli war on the country continues. Vehicles from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations transported supplies including 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, over 4 tons of water, around 600 kg of tea, and approximately 2 tons of medicines and medical equipment, according to the Azerbaijani state news agency APA.

The aid comes amid heightened tensions following joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, which have reportedly killed over 1,300 people, including former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf states hosting US military assets.
