Fidan, his Iranian Counterpart Hold Discussions on Regional Tensions

(MENAFN) Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday to discuss recent developments in the region, according to Turkish Foreign Ministry sources. The conversation, conducted by phone, focused on efforts to ease rising tensions.

Fidan has previously warned that a US military strike on Iran would be “wrong,” calling instead for diplomatic solutions between Washington and Tehran.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump reiterated pressure on Iran, urging the country to reach an agreement on its nuclear program or face consequences, warning that the “next attack” would be “far worse.” The United States previously targeted three Iranian nuclear facilities during a 12-day conflict involving Iran and Israel in June 2025.
