Turkey's Borsa benchmark stock index opens Monday

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s Borsa Istanbul (BIST 100) started Monday on a positive note, rising 0.57% to 12,740.72 points, an increase of 72.2 points.

On Friday, the index had closed up 1.7% at 12,668.52 points, with a daily transaction volume of 194 billion liras ($4.49 billion).

As of 10:25 a.m. local time (07:25 GMT), the exchange rates were 43.2730 Turkish liras per US dollar, 50.3995 per euro, and 58.0530 per British pound. Gold was priced at $4,666.80 per ounce, while Brent crude oil traded at $63.30 per barrel.
